Happy Anniversary - Dow’s lowest point

Published by rational at 1:08 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

On this date in 1932, the Dow Jones reached it’s lowest point 41.22

As of today it’s around 11316, and it’s been 76 years from that date.

We’ve had since that date

- A World War (WWII)
- A nuclear crisis (Hiroshima/Cuban Missile Crisis)
- A US president Killed (JFK)
- A US Presidents being shot at (Reagan)
- A US President impeached (Nixon)
- A US president that should have been impeached (Clinton)
- Two Iraq Wars (Both with Bush as presidents - the father and son combo)
- Many market crashes, 1987, 1990, 2000 etc
- Many Bank failures (Orange County, S&L)
- Many large bankruptcies (Enron)
- World Wide problems (Asian Flu)
- High Oil Prices, Low Oil prices
- High Gold, Low Gold

all this and more

and yet still the market continued upwards and never hit the low point again

The Dow Jones has appreciated about 7.7% per year annualized since that point

Will the next 76 years have even more drastic things happen to them.
